I'm Jason and I live in Marrickville. Just got married 6 months ago and my wife and I have been thinking about property investment for awhile now. Without any knowledge about property investing I can't anything better than this apprenticeship to help us become financially independent.
I'm really looking forward to this training. I'm sure everyone here feels the same :o)
You raise a good point. Unfortunately, if we provide pdf files it would be easy for it to get into the wrong hands and for the intellectual property to be compromised.
I am looking at turning the product into an eBook though, so that could help. It is on the list to develop in 2012.
Would you have any ideas other than the above Tim?
Hi Tim, I had the same gripe with another program I did and so I scanned the entire document into PDF format. I don't have my course materials yet so I don't know how feasible that is.
Joel here from our nation's capital, the only one from what I can tell! I'm really excited to be involved in this program as I have always been interested in property investment and see this as the most sensible way of learning about it. I', 25, my wife Jodie and I have a gorgeous little boy and another bub on the way. I'm looking forward to learning how I can create a brighter future for my family through Steve's invaluable knowledge and experience.
Cheers, Joel.
PS if there are any other apprentices in Canberra look me up or drop me a line @ aus_joel@hotmail.com
I came on board yesterday- straight out of nappies – when i received my folder in the mail. EXCITING!!!
Unfortunately i missed my first webinar due to full time day work today.
I have had time to read through the intro and I few of module:1 sessions,
but will catch up this coming weekend. I will be putting my all into this, and looking forward to it!
I feel I have learner plates on when it comes to property knowledge. I purchase my first house
with my hubby 1.5 years ago and found it quiet intimidating. Lets rid of that "intimidation" this year hey!!!!
Our house is in Croydon, Melbourne. Good news at the time of purchase was we paid $160,000 less than the house next door!
It was the worst house in the street scenario. We have been renovating it ourselves - Husband, dad and I - over the last year bit by bit. (daunting at times)
So far:
· New kitchen - I designed at ikea and hubby, dad & I installed
· New carpet
· New paint job
· New floor boards, kitchen and lounge
· New fences
· Plans to do 2 x bathrooms, and turn the back nothing room into another bedroom. From x 3 to 4 bedroom!
I have an amazing husband Malcolm. In a previous life he was a builder! Doesn’t mind the tools,
but just as much sometimes doesn’t like them either!!!
FYI: For all you people at the Melbourne property seminar a week ago, my husband was the guy
who spilt the 2nd glass of water on Steve's head. Hilarious…..Sorry Steve...
I have a carrier in the fashion industry (development side), which "I WILL" walk away from when i
become financially free to unlock the chains of this rat race world of working every day! YAY.
Nice to meet you all, and looking forward to hearing how you all go!

My name is Aaron, I live in Canberra, I'm sixteen years old and still in school. I've been interested in real estate since I was fourteen years old but I never really knew what to do in terms of furthering my education. Earlier this year, I stumbled across Steve's book in a library and subsequently read through it. I went to a market update in November and shortly after convinced my parents to enrol me in the Property Apprenticeship Program and here I am!
I am really looking forward to going through this learning experience with all of you and I wish everybody prosperity and happiness!
Hi Aaron, Great job on following through after reading the book, and well done on convincing your parents! They may well be taking tips from you in future :) Hope to meet up with you and other people in Canberra in the new year, there will be a Canberra meeting for those who want to meet up and put faces to names, discuss and just talk to others without the negative vibes you sometimes get when people tell you something can't be done. Go canberra!!! Best wishes for your investing journey.
Hi everyone, Excited to start a journey into seriously investing in property, I settled my second house in Karratha last week which is positive geared and my first property is positively geared in Gladstone. I have worked in Port Hedland for three years and have quit my high paying job due to lack of job satisfaction, back to gladstone to focus on property studies and create capital in my gladstone property to re-invest. Look forward to sharing the learning and investing journey with everyone in the group! Thanks Steve and the team for working so hard and making it all possible!
My name is Ryan and I am a little late with this post.
I guess I am late generally but it's never to late to start, or so I have been told.
My folder was lost in the mail by the ever reliant Australia Post so I am catching up now. I am 29 years of age and live in Melbourne. I am yet to purchase a property. Procrastination, fear of the unknown and my inability to manage my funds adequately are the main reasons why. In other words, having a good time was more improtant than investing in my future.
Now that I am wising up, I recognised that I lack the knowledge and skill, so here I am.
So the key for me is formal education and knoweldge, skill through appplication (and having the balls) and the support & advice from real people out there in this course.
All the best and I look forward to learning together and establishing contacts with some of my fellow students to swap notes with.
Hi my name is Victor I am a 25 year old physiotherpist from New Zealand living in Brisbane. My girlfriend and I have settled here after a year in Canada working. Our goals are to clear our student loan/debt and find the deposit to begin our investing future. I would be interested in meeting up with other like minded people in south east queensland to talk about this course and to begin networking with other potential future investors. I think the more you can get things written down the more accountable you are. So with this my first post I am taking my first steps towards financial freedom.
Good luck to everybody on the course ( you make your own luck though) and look forward to talking with you all later! Victor
The early bird catches the worm, but the second mouse gets the cheese.
My name is Chris and I live in Scoresby in Melbourne's east. My first foray into property investment took me the best part of 3 years to convince myself that it was the right decision. Since then I have purchased a second property and in a couple of weeks should be settling on my third property. I am really looking forward to this course giving me the knowledge and skill to expand my property portfolio but more importantly to give me the confidence of making the right decisions at the right time.
Hi Everyone, I' m another newcomer, but better late than never. My name is Lee and I reside in Mollymook on South Coast of NSW with my husband Rob and daughter Abi. We have been investing since 2007 and currently have three IPs plus our POP here in Mollymook. Suffering from lack of time and focus with regard to expanding our portfolio, but that is about to change. 2012 is the year when I get off my bottom, learn lots, meet some focused like-minded people and get out there again do some deals !! Can't wait !! cheers, Lee
My name is Craig, I live in Mt Evelyn Victoria with my wife and two kids. We are very excited about learning all about property investing and putting it into practice. We are very new to property investing and think this will be a great way to get into the market.

Hoping to learn alot, get guidance of where to go from here and do it confidently. Interesting times ahead......
I have been waiting a long time for a course like this - good work Steve and crew. My husband and I have renovated quite a few properties over the last 25 years and are looking at doing it for a living. We both currently work in the Mining industry and spend our weekends and spare time renovating. We own our PPR and have one negative geared property on the coast and a positive geared property in the Mount Isa. Interesting to see the background of everyone who is doing the course.
Looks like I'm Joel (2) from Canberra, married to Jane with 2 x kids (7 &10). Involved with property in one way or another for the last 20yrs or so. Looking forward to adding to my skill base and learning what I don't know (quite a few gaps I think).
My name is Taane (pronounced 'Tarny'), and I have just enrolled in the NRT Cert IV Business | Property Investing course starting 01 March 2012. It’s a unique privilege to be among the students included in this foundation class. To gain a formal Certificate IV in Business at the end of this is a fantastic outcome. Congrats to Steve and the Prop Inv Team for getting this (important) accreditation through to formal recognition. A fine achievement indeed.
I am a proud single father of 2 teenage sons, Eden (17) and Ashley (15), and fortunate to have had them for the last 5 years full-time. Two and a half years ago, I woke up one morning, and stared into my, and my family's, future. It looked bleak, and held little promise. I was a 43 year old single man, in a $45K job, renting, no assets (I couldn't even define what an asset was, or does), owned a car that was about to die, living week to week and in $24K debt. The emotion in that moment has changed my family's life since; creating a desire to change myself internally, and my family's future.
I started buying all the books I could lay my hands on, and finally came across Robert Kiyosaki's "Rich Dad Poor Dad", and Steve's "0 to 130 Properties in 3.5 Years". Armed with their strategies to get out of debt, I got disciplined with my finances, lifestyle attitudes, and personal habits. It was hard, very hard. But my newly awakened desire to become a professional investor was stronger. At 3.30pm, 13th October 2010, I walked out of my accountants office entirely debt free. George S Clason ("Richest Man in Babylon"), Robert Kiyosaki and Steve McKnight were telling the truth. Paying yourself first, and eliminating bad debt as quickly as you can, are the keys.
I have no investor experience, and still rent. I cannot wait to embrace this knowledge, apply it, and teach my sons. I believe this course will also provide me the credibility needed to develop highly capable teams, and network successfully.
Well done to everyone doing this course. “Success will come from doing things differently”. Thanks Steve.
It's great to have you sign on as part of the course. I look forward to charting your progress hearing how you are getting on.
You have certainly read some great books and that is a good start. The trick will be to find what works best for you based on what is most relevant and workable.
Hi all We are Mike and Josie from Adelaide I am a sparky getting work where and when I can, Jo is a manager in a hospital CSSD, working far to hard for little reward, and currently doing a managerial course on top. So I will be the main participent, though I'm sure Jo will be very close all the same. We make a great team and though we have done some investing before we are looking forward to this course and the navigational corrections we are bound to have to take to get us to where we want to be. We don't wish you luck. We wish you clarity of goal clarity of path and the strength to go for it. Well maybe a little luck wouldn't hurt:) Thanks to Steve and team for the opportunity and Merry Christmas to ALL. Mike and Jo
Thanks for the post. Doing the course together is a fantastic idea, and in particular, the chance to chat and align through the self study questions at the end of each session should deliver great insight and clarity. Stay in touch.
Hi, my name is Paul and I am from Point Cook in Melbourne. Married with 3 kids, 1, 3, and 5. Don’t have any properties other than the one we live in which the bank tells me we now own a room or two (yay).
Purchased the book several years ago, didn’t act on it.
Went to a seminar a few years ago, didn’t act on it either.
My interest has never wavered on investing however over the years my fear factor has grown immensely. The lack of education defiantly plays a part for me.
It’s nice to see so many people doing well and interested in property, I hope to chat to a few of you over time.
Hi Paul. Thanks for the post and welcome on board. Your situation is one that many experience. We need to work on two parts... Your knowledge, and you application of that knowledge.
The course will I've you the knowledge, and once you have identified a wealth creation model that fits best (which we do early on in the course) it will be time to start applying the theory in the real world, one little step at a time.
I also want to say well done on not giving up on the dream.
I'm 26 and an Engineering Surveyor working an hour out of Port Hedland WA (2 weeks on 2 weeks off). I Live where ever the plane takes me. I bought my first IP at 19 and since then I've spent to much on beer and scotch.
I'm really looking forward to learning something new! AL
Too much booze hey Andrew? Well, you can't change the past but you can chart a better course for the future. Well done on identifying the problem and taking action via education to get better investing results. At least you have plenty to listen to and study on the flights to and fro.
Hi! I'm Kerry from Sydney and I'm married with 3 kids, 23, 21 & 13. We have been investing for 8 years and currently have 13 IP's in NSW & Qld plus our PPOR. We are in consolidation phase with our portfolio.
Over the years I have read countless books, attended many seminars and completed several courses including Property Investment Advisor Accreditation through PIAA. I guess I'm a property freak! I love learning, and even though I may not gain as much from the course as newer investors, I have no doubt I will benefit, because I will never know everything, and the content in Steve's books, seminars etc is always great.
I am eagerly awaiting the arrival of the course content! I'm also looking forward to communicating with so many like minded people.
Hi Kerry. Thanks for the post. I think the course will be of most value to you in the evaluation and selling modules. I'll be fascinated to get your feedback on how the structure of the wealth creation models can be applied to you current portfolio. I'd also love to hear your thoughts on how the course compares to PIAA.
Thanks for the oppertunity Steve And property investing team ,for the chance to tap into the knowledge you guys have availible which i have been seeking for some time and looking forward to being competent and capable investor.we had three investment properties plus our PPR,We sold one property and the remaining two are negatively geared, we would like to get the structure right to be able to invest further. Thanks Peter & Caroilne
Hi all, my name is Justin and I live in Aspendale, Vic. I am married with 2 boys( 2 years and 7 weeks). I have owned and renovated my own home and want to use my equity to kickstart my investing. I hope the knowledge gained on this course will assist this.
Steve/Renee, is the course notes on pdf. so I can start work on my first assessment.
You can find the assessments in the Resources Library in PDF and Word format.
The course notes are only in print form at the moment, but I am looking at ways of converting it into an eBook. The problem is protecting copyright so people can't email them around, versus making the course more easily to access for students. It's on my list for 2012 to sort out.
Hi, My name is Simone and I live in Croydon Victoria. I am a married stay at home mum with 3 young children. We have been investing for around 10 years now but not very sucessfully. Thats why I have signed up for the course as I need all the help I can get. My confidence levels are not very high at all with making the right decisions and we currently hold one neg geared property which is currently on the market.
We would like to get serious about investing and thought that this was the best way to move forward, gain knowlege and hopefully make some good decisions in the future.
I have only just received the course folder a few days prior to Christmas and so have put it off until now to even begin looking at it , got to be honest and say I am very overwhelmed at this stage of the game.
It's okay to feel overwhelmed, but remember there is a full year ahead of us. Just take it one session at a time and you'll be surprised how quickly you progress.
You don't have to be great to start, but you have to start to be great.
My hubby Jeff and I have been investing in property since 2006 - we sort of fell into it as we had built a new house and couldn't sell for what we wanted so decided to rent it out and from there caught the bug. we tend to by low end and ex commission properties with good to reasonable rentals but have probably hit a bit of a brick wall financially now and are trying to figure out the next direction to go and how to fund it. We had planned on a reno job to buy and sell in Bendigo but it has taken so long and has gone over budget (very much a live and learn job) that we need to hold it for a while till the market passes us again - no biggy we just need to figure out where to go from here. Looking forward to the ideas. Robyn from Romsey
I've just finished the assessment for module 1. It was much more in depth than I thought. I had to crack out the old high school texts to figure out some of the formulas (I didn't want to use excel so I can do it withoue a PC handy). How has everyone else found it so far?
I've been thinking about property investing for a while now. I had a positively geared property which I sold late last year due to limitations with being able to access its equity. Rather than make similar mistakes this time round I thought I would get the basics right before I venture out again next time.
Looking forward to soaking in as much knowledge as possible and hopefully meeting a great network of people to bounce ideas.
Gilbert here from Perth, WA .I have always been interested in property investment and participating this training programme is the best way of learning about it. I'm looking forward to learning how I can create a brighter future through Steve's invaluable knowledge and experience.
Hi everyone, just wanted to say gday and introduce myself. My name is Natalie, and im stoked to be on board this IP apprenticeship ! Im 31, happily married with 2 kids (4 and 3). I work part time as a nurse with the blood bank but my true passion lies in property. Ive read heaps of books, been to a few seminars, and am so hungry for more information about every aspect of property investing. I want to be able to apply new skills learnt, to be able to put us in a comfortable financial position for the future! We have finished having our family, finally enjoying having 2 ( well 1.5 x wages again haha) and am very excited about moving to the next phase in our lives in securing our financial freedom. We made the move to the eastern suburbs of melbourne about 18 months ago. We are currently renting where we are, and renting out our old PPOR (now IP1) from our previous surburb. We have recently tapped into our equity in this property to purchase our 2nd IP in Bendigo (which is currently being constructed). IP1 is now slightly negatively geared, IP2 will be positively geared. Ive got the bug now and cant wait to buy more !!! Look forward to sharing this journey with everyone!!

Hi Steve/Renee,
I travel a lot and the hardcopy folder is a pain to take with me. Is the course on .pdf that I can acess and use electronically?
Please respond to me at tim.ecclestone78@gmail.com

Hi All,
My name is Taane (pronounced 'Tarny'), and I have just enrolled in the NRT Cert IV Business | Property Investing course starting 01 March 2012.

Hi Taane,
It's great to have you sign on as part of the course. I look forward to charting your progress hearing how you are getting on.
You have certainly read some great books and that is a good start. The trick will be to find what works best for you based on what is most relevant and workable.
Steve
Sorry about the extra script in my personal intro ... dont know what happened ...

Hi all
We are Mike and Josie from Adelaide
I am a sparky getting work where and when I can, Jo is a manager in a hospital CSSD, working far to hard for little reward, and currently doing a managerial course on top.
Well maybe a little luck wouldn't hurt:)
Thanks to Steve and team for the opportunity and Merry Christmas to ALL.
Mike and Jo
Hi Mike and Jo.
Thanks for the post. Doing the course together is a fantastic idea, and in particular, the chance to chat and align through the self study questions at the end of each session should deliver great insight and clarity. Stay in touch.
Steve
Hi, my name is Paul and I am from Point Cook in Melbourne. Married with 3 kids, 1, 3, and 5. Don’t have any properties other than the one we live in which the bank tells me we now own a room or two (yay).
Purchased the book several years ago, didn’t act on it.
Went to a seminar a few years ago, didn’t act on it either.
My interest has never wavered on investing however over the years my fear factor has grown immensely. The lack of education defiantly plays a part for me.
It’s nice to see so many people doing well and interested in property, I hope to chat to a few of you over time.
Thanks, Paul.
Steve
Hi I'm Andrew,
I'm 26 and an Engineering Surveyor working an hour out of Port Hedland WA (2 weeks on 2 weeks off).
Steve
Steve

Hi all, my name is Justin and I live in Aspendale, Vic. I am married with 2 boys( 2 years and 7 weeks). I have owned and renovated my own home and want to use my equity to kickstart my investing. I hope the knowledge gained on this course will assist this.
Steve/Renee, is the course notes on pdf. so I can start work on my first assessment.
Thanks, Justin
Hi Justin,
You can find the assessments in the Resources Library in PDF and Word format.
The course notes are only in print form at the moment, but I am looking at ways of converting it into an eBook. The problem is protecting copyright so people can't email them around, versus making the course more easily to access for students. It's on my list for 2012 to sort out.
Steve
Hi Justin,
I'm from Chelsea if you want to have a coffee once the course gets going ?

Here's to a bright future for all of us .
Simone
Hi Simone,
It's okay to feel overwhelmed, but remember there is a full year ahead of us. Just take it one session at a time and you'll be surprised how quickly you progress.
You don't have to be great to start, but you have to start to be great.
Steve
HI Everyone,
I'm Scott from south east Melbourne. I went backwards in 2011 so I am looking forward to finishing the course and making amends in 2012
Cheers
Hi All,
I've just finished the assessment for module 1. It was much more in depth than I thought. I had to crack out the old high school texts to figure out some of the formulas (I didn't want to use excel so I can do it withoue a PC handy). How has everyone else found it so far?
Cheers,
Joel
Hi
I've been thinking about property investing for a while now. I had a positively geared property which I sold late last year due to limitations with being able to access its equity. Rather than make similar mistakes this time round I thought I would get the basics right before I venture out again next time.
Looking forward to soaking in as much knowledge as possible and hopefully meeting a great network of people to bounce ideas.
