Hi everyone
We are having a meeting on the 21st Feb at 7.30pm. Hope you can make it to civic library, and if not this time then we'll be making it a regular thing on the third Tues of the month, same time/place. Civic library is now in civic square, London Cct, at the bottom of the stairs to canberra theatre.
BYO coffee mug, and a gold coin to contribute towards the room hire cost. It's not a sales pitch thing like many 'seminars' run by people selling property, it's organised by yours truly to meet others and talk 'shop'. I'm at home with my two kids and while they are gorgeous, they don't discuss deals at the adult level!
Hope you can make it, and bring a friend if you want. Not necessarily an apprentice, anyone who's keen on property.
Cheers
Claire
Sounds good, I'll try and make it
Hi IOPPI
Hope you can make it, it would be great to meet as many locals doing the course as possible!
Best wishes

Awesome Claire and thanks for the post. Last we spoke it was at the realm hotel so I am glad I checked hahahaha. I would have gone to the wrong place.
See you then.
Dean
Hi Claire
Sounds fantastic, will definitely try and make it! (being pedantic is the meeting in the downstairs rooms of the Civic library??)
Cheers
Chris
Hi Chris
I understand we'll be on the mezzanine level, above you as you enter from the front door. I'll find out whether we have to enter from another door when I get the key later today, but look for us on the upper level (it's all glass so you should be able to see us!)
See you tonight!

So it turns out that we enter from the back door as the library is closed off to us.
Instead of going to the front door with all those crazy building angles, head around the other side of the library and at the far end there's another door. I'll put a sign up and some arrows or something.
If all else fails, it's glass so we'll be able to see down if anyone is lost!

Hi Claire
I was asked by a fellow property investor recently how to get to the mezzanine level of the library (through the back door). Here's my attempt to describe how to enter the building via the back door:
If you look at the library from London Circuit, you will see that part of the library jutts out towards the Hermitage Restaurant. On the right-hand side of this part that jutts out, is a door tucked in the corner. Claire has a property investor meeting sign just inside the door (it's probably best to do a trial run during the day so you cansee the back door clearly).
As Claire says in other posts here, the meetings are at 7.30pm on the third Tuesday of each month.
If there are other people who know how to describe how to get into library via the back door, please add/alter these directions!
Cheers,
Positive Cashflow Investments and Vendor Finance
Our speaker for this month is Brendon Black, who has been investing for many years using creative strategies such as second mortgage carrybacks and onselling with vendor finance, also known as wraps. Brendon has just returned from the US, and will be sharing with the group what he learned and implemented while there, and how he will be applying it in the local market. Come and hear how he’s educated himself and learn more for yourself about this strategy from someone who is up to date with ASIC licensing requirements and has demonstrated experience in this field of investing. Brendon will be walking us through a deal where he used vendor finance to both purchase and sell a property, creating passive income for himself.
The first 40 attendees are lucky enough to receive the current edition of ‘Your Investment Property’ magazine, valued at $9.95, for free.
Tuesday 15th May, 7.30pm at Civic library, London Cct in the City.
Gold coin entry, byo coffee mug and business cards for networking.
Hope to see you there - let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks Michelle, it was a very interesting night. Brendon did a great job of presenting the pros and the cons, and showing what can happen when things aren't done well. Very enlightening!
Don't be a stranger if you're in town anytime soon :)

Hi! How'd the Tuesday meeting go? I would have loved to come to hear about carrybacks and so on, but missed out on this opportunity by finding out about it too late.
Would love to meet the Canberra crowd to talk property in the not too distant future!
Sim
Hi Sim
That's life hey, sometimes you're there for an opportunity, sometimes not.
our next one is June 19th, another Tues night, at 7.30pm. Nathan Birch is coming down to chat to the group, he's a contact of one of our attendees so we've roped him in to come down from Syd.
More details to come... check him out at binvested.com.au if you want to see what he's on about.

Hi Claire
After being lost in the wilderness for the last 2 months, I can't wait to attend this month's session!!
See you on Tuesday (week)!
Cheers,
Thanks, Claire, I enjoyed Nathan's presentation. Exciting to see someone so young taking control of their financial situation via the vehicle of property. Reassuring too, that he mentions (in the binvested brochure) that his successful outcome has stemmed from a lot of hard work and research - a lot of property gurus make it seem like it is really easy.
Looking forward to the next session,
Simone
I'd love to attend but travelling into Canberra from country NSW in the dark isn't worth considering. I have to avoid roos, wombats, foxes et al once the sun sets. Could the meeting be on a weekend and in daylight hours?
Cheers,
Wendy
Hi Wendy
Yes, travelling in the dark is a bit of a downer, and not really worth the risk if you're going far.
Our next June meeting is the usual Tues night, but then for the depths of winter we're having weekend daytime meetings as the nights are so very cold. More details to come in July...
The group keeps growing in size, which is great, so we've started to use www.propertymeeting.com.au to get people to rsvp there and register to be kept informed. I'm told there's no spamming of emails and the info is only used to promote the canberra meetings to you - and so far this has been our experience. Jump online there if you want an easy way to stay in the loop?
Hope to meet you soon, would be great to hear how you're going with the course so far.

Thanks Claire,
I expected to see you in Melbourne for the Conference. I'll try to get to the July meeting so we can chat.
Cheers,
Wendy
Hi everyone,
So I hope you had a good winter - I am still not happy with the length of the Canberra winter and I was born here! Anyway, let's hope these sunny days continue.
Our next meeting is on the wholistic topic of effective communiction. Allan Oliver is an acclaimed facilitator and educator, who will enlighten and inform us with some tools we can use right away to fine-tune your ‘soft skills’ of investing. Improve your communication with agents, tradespeople, and other professionals on your investing team. Talk about practical help! Be prepared to learn some common mistakes we may all be making, without even realising. This will help not only your professional conversations and negotiations, but will improve all areas of your life. Finally, we might be able to understand why our loved ones frustrate us, or perhaps get an extra $5,000 in an upcoming price negotiation by using your new super powers. Communication is a skill for life, come and hear some practical tips to help you communicate with confidence, and meet other like-minded locals.
BYO coffee mug, gold coin entry. We’ll have some informal networking time after Allen’s presentation so you can meet other ACT locals and hear how they’re making money in today’s market.
Once again, there are some current edition property magazines from Your Investment Property and Smart Investor valued at $8.95 and $9.95 for free, first in best dressed! See you at 7.30pm on Sept 18th.
ps. Our October meeting is to be held on Tuesday 16th Oct at 7.30pm, put this date in your diary now!!
