Real estate investar

Hi Steve
Having received your dvd (which is absolutely fantastic) I have just finished the first disk and I am very interested in the realestate investar site. Would it be possible for you to try and secure a similar deal as to the one in the dvd, for the apprentices?

I would also welcome thoughts from any investors who have used the website.

I'll speak to the team there in the new year and see what I can organize as a VIP offer.

I have been using REI for a few months, and it is very good for allowing you to drill down to what type of property/opportunity you are looking for, but I also find it very frustrating at times! It might bring up 50 results for your search, but 25 of them will probably be multiple listings for the same property, plus there are always a lot that are no longer for sale. I realise this is the fault of agents who don't remove the listings from sites (a form of free advertising for them), however because the info is drawn from multiple listing sites, the problem seems far worse than if just using realestate.com.au. I also have access to rpdata and often have to check the property on that site to see if it is, in fact, still for sale.

Hi all,

I have also used REI for a while now and indeed at first I also found it a little frustrating in obtaining data from the program. I then went to one of their training days and learnt so much more on how to obtain the information you are seeking, how to set the filters to match what you are looking for and to align with your strategy or buying rules.

Even though REI has excellent training modules online, I would encourage anyone using the program to attend the free 1 day training session(s) held by REI on a regular base. You’ll get more out of the program :-)

Regards

Dave

I agree about going to the training sessions, well worthwhile.  I ahve noticed recently that they don't have everything on their site and I need to contact them about that as I came across one on realestate.com which was very worthwhile but I would have missed - other than that I love it the more I use it

Many thanks for this Investar post.

This is the first time I am looking into Investar and will attend the suggested training if available. From first glance, it appears this website will add to my toolkit of information sites - Residex, RP Data, Investar....

It is also good to read that other investers use it in conjunction with RP Data etc.

Cheers,

Hi All

As a newbe to this apprenticeship, but not a newbe to investing, I was blown away by the Investar website webinar I watched the other night. I liked the fact it could pull information from other websites such as RP data, APM etc...into one search engine that could provide a "complete picture" for someone to be able to pick the lemons from the stars. This to me would be fantastic - the only drawback is the monthly cost to access the database (especially if according to the above users, info is not always 100% accurate or up to date).

Can anyone tell me what the comparisons/differences are with this website data vs RP data/Residex etc... in terms of the type of data and the costs?  Is one better than the other?

Steve what's your take on this website???..............Interested to know.........cheers, Tamara

I have been using realestate investar for the last few months and definatelly find it a useful tool.  I dont even mind so much the double ups as stated above, takes me a few seconds to just skip over them.  I am a little concerned though that they dont put all the recent sales figures and properties in there system.  Which I noticed after comparing it with data from a realestate agent.  Also the valuation is not always accurate.  The other part I find a bit frustrating is that it is not easy to edit your portfolio (say for example and increase in rent),  seems you have to re-enter everything and add the property again.
Thanks for the advise and the training day.  Will make sure I get on that

Is anyone using this to look for commercial properties?
I'm finding it difficult to filter commerical properties using  http://www.realcommercial.com.au/for-sale and was considering using investar if it pulls info from the commercial property sites.

I would be interested in a VIP deal also. Are you paying  paying $249 per month for access?

Kind regards,
