Hi chloe I'm the same as you but I thought I might give it another shot over christmas, it is LOADS of work. I just read Kyrons post and if they really do get shorter I wil give it another go - just got to get a workable idea
I wouldn't say loads of work, however the first module is huge, and it does take a lot to get your head around. Once you get on a bit the modules are a lot shorter and fairly straight forward. For those who are time poor it is possible to outsource some tasks.
Hi Jane The course is work - but it is great work. After my original brainstorming I came up with 200 niches that I put through the keyword search and many of them have great potential..... More importantly the course provides, structure, system and support. I had trouble with accessing my current web site and the support that I received from the support desk was outstanding.... Having said that I am interested and want to take responsibility for this function in our business - but if a person does not have the desire or interest - outsourcing certainly makes sense.... :-)
Hi janecav, Derek certainly puts everything into his course. He does a weekly webinar with all the students each Saturday morning. It is scheduled for a hour but he's often gone for two hours. He continues until all our questions are answered. As roadhog260 above said, the course is very structured, each section builds on the previous (like Steve's apprentice course) and it is put into small videos so you aren't overloaded. You work at your own pace. If you want to develop an online business, sign up and get working!
Three of us from our original POD are doing the course. We all think it is fantastic. We try to catch up by Skype after the webinars to discuss our own progress.
I havent had as much to do with Derek Gehl as some of the previous responders but I have been to two of his seminars. I can say that Derek is very enthusiastic and has an absolute wealth of knowledge when it comes to internet business. It does require some committment, similar I would say to this property investing course, if you want to get the most out of it. I havent made use of his principles myself, however I do see evidence all around me of the usefulness of his course, including a few posts in the forums that have made use of his principles. (See 'Apps' in the forums for example) If you have the opportunity to go to one of his seminars I think that would be a great way to help determine if it is right for you. Hope this helps,
Derek is certainly thorough and easy to listen and learn from.
I have taken a three month break from the current Web business course, because I know the course has the flexibility to come back to it later on. The current web course is 12 months to go through it all, but some people can certainly finish it much faster.
I never felt like I was out on my own going through the info.
Hey Dean, Thanks a lot. I've got an email back from Derek who has outlined his Entrepreneur Lab course which is, as you say, 12 months. It looks really comprehensive. I'm now planning to do the course next year. Jane
Hi jane I was talked into going to a Brett McFall seminar and I have to say it was awful. The level of hard sell was so full on.... I was so adamant that I was not going to his seminar and then after looking through his web page I was convinced it would be great to do. Great because his copyright skills were amazing - his web page changed my mind even against my better judgement. If you have any feedback about his course in your research it would be great to hear about... The hard sell and the fact that I am doing too much at the moment were my big barriers. But who knows his course could be pretty awesome as well....
I have heard good things about him/ his course too but quite frankly I already am committed to the Property Apprenticeship, my own small web biz www.munroboards.com and that other thing that puts food on the table that sucks up 50hrs a week. I'm not sure how anyone is able to manage 3 such tasks and do all well - something has to give, in my case my study is falling behind.
Don't be fooled by building a web business and turning it onto auto pilot. I can say that like anything, if you want to do it well then yu have to put a LOT of time, effort and mental energy (thinking, planning, delegating, worrying etc) into it. Keen on any insights on what I am doing wrong across the board :-?
Hey, thanks zem100! i totally agree about doing things well. I'm loving this Property Apprenticeship but its all I can manage at the moment too. I am going to pursue the Derek Gehls course after this Cert IV has finished. So since I agree about needing to put in the time to do something properly, I don't think I have any insights into how to do things better. Actually, yes I do - somehow reduce expenses. We are a one car family now instead of 2 and we make sure we always live near public transport. Makes a big difference to our brain space.
I have "heard" it is well written, easy to understand but LOADS of work (especially for those who are time poor).
I didn't have any ideas (blast) not a very creative individual so that was why I had to let it go.

Thank you Wendy. I will investigate! It sounds very positive.

Thanks a lot Tom! I will have a look into it.

I am doing Derek's course but struggling to find a niche.
However, I have gained a whole new perspective on internet marketing from Rich Schefren.
Highly recomend http://www.strategicprofits.com/
and http://profithacks.com/the-profit-prophesy/
certainly shed some light on the process and pitfalls
Great, thanks rrocket I'll have a look.
