Shameless self-promotion (for a good cause)

The truth is, men are often known to be more indifferent towards their health when compared to the efforts of women, who proactively and publicly address their health issues. As a result, today the levels of awareness, understanding and funding for men’s health issues, like prostate cancer and men’s mental health, lag significantly behind other causes.

Movember aims to change the face of men’s health and reverse this way of thinking by putting a fun twist on a serious issue. Using the moustache as a catalyst, we want to bring about change and give men the opportunity and confidence to talk about their health more openly.

Movember's primary campaign objective is to raise awareness and funds for men's health issues, specifically prostate and male mental health. We want everyone to know that most cancers are highly curable if caught in the early stages therefore Movember aims to increase early detection, diagnosis and effective treatment. This will ultimately reduce the number of deaths from cancer.
Statistics show that, on average, men die at a younger age than women. That said, despite trailing the women’s health movement, things are beginning to change, but much more progress needs to be made to close the gap between the state of men and women’s health.  Established taboos and barriers relating to men’s health are gradually being broken down.

Maintaining healthy lifestyle choices, a good diet and getting regular medical check-ups and screening tests can dramatically influence your health. Regardless of age, keep your health in check.
I have set up a mospace account which I will keep updated with pictures,mo-gress, updates about getting a health check. Even if you don't donate I would strongly suggest getting a health screening test this month from you local GP
No point being financially free if you haven't got a healthy body to utilise it.

The link below can be followed to donate: Thanks in advance.

munmun5,
I have considered doing movember for a couple of years now but perhaps my ego got in the way or something. I don't think it will suit me at all but this year I have bitten the bullet and committed to the cause. I haven't had a look at your link yet but it has made me enthusiastic to show my support. Maybe we should keep the mo's for the B2BFF in early December and compare. Hopefully we can get others involved as well..

Great to hear you reached your goal! I hope others can draw some inspiration. Might seem obvious I guess but you have to set the goal before you can hope to achieve it and you have shown how we can do just that. A lesson I have been reflecting on lately and something I could do with reassigning for myself. At this stage I have kept the mo and what passes for the start of a beard. Yet to shave so if you see a weird homeless looking guy at the next event its probably me.
