Hi all. My name is Victor I am living in Brisbane and would really like to meet like minded people in the area. A meeting every month-ish to talk over the course, your progress and thoughts, and discussing any investing stories of sucess/mistakes that we can all learn and devolop off. I think starting in the new year once the festive season is over would be a good time to start. Also maybe sorting a topic to discuss at each session might help it be more efficient. Hope to hear from you all soon.

Why do they charge $10 for a catch up? What does the money contribute towards?
Hi Victor,
Currently living in Gladstone QLD, but happy to meet once a month in Brisbane on the weekends. Talk more about it after the christmas festivities :)
Cheers,
Andrew
Hi Victor
I live in Brissy and I'd be more than happy to get together once a month with like minded people. Keep me informed.
Regards Keith
Great. I was going to suggest a Brissy get together - came in here today to do just that and look what I found. I would love to meet you all.
Can we get a feel for where everyone is based. I live/work on the southside in Capalaba/Mt Gravatt. Where do you live/work?
This will help us find a suitable location based on majority.
G'day I'm Dan and also in Brissy - I'm on the North side - live/work in the Enoggera / Mitchelton area. Keen to catch up once a month. Cheers
Hi Victor
My name is Greg. I think a monthly catchup is a good idea.
What would you see the group focusing on? My thoughts are not just the course but also investment ideas/ challenges as well.
Cheers
Greg
Hi all. I think the best way to faciliate this is for everyone to email me victorahipene@gmail.com . At the end of this week/start of next week everyone that has emailed I will add to a mailing group which we can all send each other emails to. I think we should start with a weekend session in the evening some stage from a fri-sun. If everyone could put in the email what weekend this month and what day they would be more likely to be able to attend then I can pick a date, suggestions on venues would be great. Also in the email if everybody could add how long they would like the offical discussion part of the meeting to go for 1-3 hours then we can structure what we want to talk about and try to keep to an agenda. In the first meeting think the first half will be a meet and greet, then discuss a plan for future meetings and then discuss peoples suggestions for the second half.
I am very new to the investment game so I dont mind being an organiser ( not my strongest skill but a work-on non the less) but prefer not to be the leader/chair of meetings. I think the more formally set out these meetings are ( with a chance for general chat before and after) will make these alot more effective.
Cheers
Victor

Hi Victor
I am also a Brissie local and would love to catch up with everyone, (it seems that we may have two Michelle's from the southside of Brisbane!!), My husband and I have just come back from holidays and are still settling back into our "everyday routine" but I shall email you so that we can be added to the mailing group. I look forward to meeting everyone. M

Hi all been MIA for the last month on holiday then catching up on life. Couldnt make the recent market update but I have enrolled in the property investors summit and was wondering who else on here is planning on going as we could organise a meeting either before hand or afterwards to get the ball rolling!

We are from Tyalgum, just over the border into NSW. Currently in the Pilbara but possibly back in NSW or QLD next year I think. Would love to make contact with other Brisbane people at the 3 day conference in Melbourne if any of you are attending . Cheers, Janice
Looking forward to meeting you at the conference, I will be staying with family living in the dandenong area of Melbourne, quite a distance from the venue but the accomodation is free. Hope the course is meeting your expectations as it is mine. Regards, Richard
I am staying at a cheap and hopefully not too nasty hotel near the convention centre called Hotel Enterprize. Will look out for other Brisbane people - hope we get name tags! Would be nice if all of you could attach a photo of yourselves to the emails so we know who to look out for.
Hi
I have been very absent for the last month or so. I am so excited to tell you that we purchased our first IP. We turned around a full house renovation and now have it available to rent. It was very exhausting, very time consuming and very satisfying. Lets hope the instant equity gives me the rewards - fingers crossed.
Now me being so absorbed in the reno has meant that I am WAY behind in my course. I haven't even started the first assessment.
I am going to Melbourne, staying with family at St Kilda. I will have to tackle the trams.
I am very under organised with regard to Melbourne clothing. I have to go shopping as I do not even own a jacket.
Does anyone know what the dress code is? Business like, or would jeans and a smart shirt be ok? What are you doing about winter woolies?
I would love to catch up with you - see you there
Shell
I know what you mean Shell about Melbourne clothing. I live in Tom Price and we only get about 6 weeks winter so I didn't own any jackets either. I just went down to the local op shop and spent under $20 and now have a complete set of smart city clothes. I don't think it really matters what you wear. I will enjoy dressing up a bit as don't get to do that where I live! but I will also have some jeans ready incase. Look forward to meeting you all there. Really excited about the program. It is going to be so hard to pick which workshops to go to!
Hi Andrew, I have a property in Gladstone and it is being property managed by Elders who are hopeless. Do you know who is a good Property Manager there in Gladstone? Thanks, Janice
Hi all.
I found this thread, but dont see on here if any of you have met up since the thread was actually started. I am in Brisbane. I live in Springfield (Ipswich) but work in Mt Gravatt area if anyone is interested in meeting up.
I was so inspired from conference to come home and finish with my home renovations - just 3 more walls to paint and then the trim. No sooner will I finish that and I will be onto the rental property and fixing it up for re rental.
Janice - I think there are too many dud property managers out there - happy to take your money but not to do the work. Sadly I have also found this out the hard way. I have more trust in the agency who has taken over my rental prperty from the next lease as they are local and seem to know the market a little better than the ones that touted themselves as being the experts in the rental market.
Bec
Hey Bec,
tried to organise a couple of meet and greets to no avail. Have not tried again at this stage. I am heading to melbourne next week for steves new book thing I think some systems of meeting with people in qld will be implimented there. Is anybody else going? If not I would be happy to meet up with you after next weekend.
Vic

Bec
I also work in Mt Gravatt. If you have time are you interested in a coffee and an informal chat? Do you get lunch breaks?
PM me if you want to catch up.
Anyone else want to come? PM me.
