Just thought I would start a topic on great books. I am an avid reader and I love to hear about what people are reading. At the moment I am reading an oldie but a goodie 'The Law of Success' by Napoleon Hill. It extrapolates his 'Think and Grow Rich' book. It is fun to read and takes you right back to the basics. The other book I wanted to mention is 'The Leader who had no title' by Robin Sharma. Sharma also wrote The Monk Who Sold his Ferrari and a number of others, however, The Leader who Had No Title is my favourite and I have read it many times. He talks about the fact that we are all leaders of our own destiny. He also talks about the 5.00 a.m. club as those people who make the effort to get up at 5.00 a.m. seem to get more done and are more focussed. I am interested to hear what other people are reading.
Cheers

I am stuck for a good book at the moment so thanks for the recommendations. All the property books seem to just be repeating each other or else building the foundations of stuff we have already done on the course. I tried Jane Slack Smiths "Your property success with renovations" but found it a very dull read and not too much about renovations. One book I quite enjoyed is the "one minute millionaire" By Mark Victor Hansen and Robert Allen, Robert Allen has a couple of good ones too, Multiple streams of income and nothing down. I have gone off Kiyosaki (see one of his companies went bankrupt) but the old favourite is "the richest man in babylon"

Thanks Kyron. I really enjoyed the one minute millionaire.I also enjoyed Don' bitch just get rich. It is told in story format and great to read.
I have been reading how to win friends and influence people and so far it is awesome . Plan on readin personality plus next which a friend said to read after the win friends book. If you like reading about successful people doing well and doing the right thing read Richard Bransons screw business as usual , and like a virgin I read one of his at the same time as reading Steve jobs biography ( very interesting book bit of a weirdo though ) was really interesting to contrast their two business leadership styles! However the best book which I plan on reading again is need a rocket from Marty Ayles thought it was awesome. Find it amusing at school I hired the videos or DVDs of the book we were meant to read but since about a year ago have read about 30 books . Amazing some of them actually have interesting stuff in them haha
The early bird catches the worm, but the second mouse gets the cheese.
A couple more books to add to your reading list:
1) How to buy a House for a $1 (by Rick Otton) - a good explanation of how Vendor Finance works
2) Get off Your Duff and Make Your Own @#$! Cheese (by Sean Roach) - an excellent motivational book that will get you "taking action"
Cheers guys......Tamara
Im not sure this qualifies as a book (although im sure the text is available somewhere) but recently I have started listening to a recording of 'The Strangest Secret' by Earl Nightingale. Im sure there are a good few people aware of this work as Steve provided a copy at one of his recent seminars, but for those who havent heard of it and are looking for inspiration I highly recommend it! It is amazing that a recording made such a long time ago (originally recorded in the fifties) continues to be so relevant today. I would also second munmun5 on their comments regarding the Marty Ayles book 'Get a Rocket'. If I could mention one other book which doesnt actually have anything to do with property investing or money (Sorry Steve) it would be 'Between a rock and a hard place' by Aron Ralston. I was given the book as a present and thought 'oh yeah another motivational book' and didnt read it for a while. When I did I found it to be a great read and highly inspirational and motivating.

The unwritten laws of business - W.J.King with revisions and additions by James Skakoon.
My brief synopsis would say that this book is the basics. As someone who has been in the workforce for 2 years, this book details concepts that I have seen, should have seen and have thought about in my work. A fair proportion is common sense, but it is always nice to have that reinforced.
I am currently ensconced in 'Steve Jobs' by Walter Isaacson. What a fabulous book about a very interesting man. Makes for excellent reading.
Thanks for the reading tips. We are travelling over the Christmas/January holiday time (lots of flying) so I now have a list of books to get through.
A book I read recently is "Creating a Portfolio like Warren Buffer" by Jeeva Ramaswamy. Absolutely nothing to do with investing in property but it is interesting that successful investors, whether shares, property, business or what ever, share many similarities in their approach to investing. The biggest one I can see is understanding the investment sector and being committed to due diligence! The second one is being persistently consistent!
Enjoy Christmas everyone!
Cheers
