Trying to catch up

Hi All

I am hopelessly behind and feeling very guilty about it. Had a baby (now 10 weeks old) with a bit of a scary end to the pregnancy and an early delivery by emergency C-section.

Finding my feet in motherhood and taking the opportunity while he's napping in the day to try and catch up.

I have a new passion for financial freedom now though - anything to keep me having to leave him to go back to a 9-5 day job where I'd have to leave him in childcare.

Happy investing everyone!

Hi Claire,
Congratulations on your new baby! It must be quite a challenge. I wanted to encourage you with your investing study and investing pursuits
and I like that you said you have a new found reason to not go back to work!

Congratulations Claire, what an adventure you have in front of you!  I hope you and bub are doing well now.  I have 3  little angels, now 3, 5 and 7.  All were premature and c-section so I can tell you from experience what you have achieved already is amazing.  It is a challenge to juggle work, study and all the extra chores children bring but you have the best reason to reach financial freedom now.  Enjoy the naps while you can and best of luck with your investing.

Hi Claire congratualtions, what a blessing. Theres no time for guilt, It sounds like you have recoverd well.
It's a balancing act I know, make sure you also take time to smell the roses. I know everyone says it, but, they are little such a short time.
looking back I wish I had enjoyed my twins more, rather than trying to be wonderwoman. they are now 14, wow that went by fast.
all the best

Dear Claire,

Congratulations! You are doing very well to get some study in while the little one is resting. It will be hard in some ways to find the time to keep on track but you have many supporters here in the forums who wish you all the best, and as you said you have a great reason to want that financial freedom. Even if you only get a little done each day or every second day you will keep on track. You are already a great role model to your little one now without him knowing it yet.

All the best !

Kathleen

How exciting to have a new person in your life.  Be kind to yourself.  Do what you can when you can.  A little bit often is much better than trying to swim into what appear a tsunami so set small goals and give yourself a pat on the bak when you achieve each one.

most of all, enjoy your baby cause they grow up really fast!
